Foundry Street to permanently close; Baker Street extended into gulch
ATLANTA (May 9, 2012) – As construction progresses on the College Football Hall of Fame, residents of Atlanta will notice roadway changes near the building site. Foundry Street, intersecting the construction site, will close permanently on Monday, May 13 as build-out of the Hall continues. Baker Street, which lines the north end of the property, has been widened and extended around to the west of the site (adjacent to the railroad tracks). It now extends into the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) gulch and will provide access to the Omni Hotel and GWCC loading docks, as well as parking for the GWCC and Phillips Arena.

Georgia World Congress Center Hosted Coverings, Tile and Stone Tradeshow
ATLANTA - (May 10, 2013) The Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) hosted Coverings, the tile and stone tradeshow this past week, April 29-May 2. The event featured over 900 global exhibitors in the industry and attracted distributors, retailers, fabricators, contractors, architects, designers, suppliers and others involved in the industry.

GWCCA Participates in Earth Day Cleanup
ATLANTA - (May 6, 2013) The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) participated in the 2nd Annual Downtown Atlanta Earth Day Clean Up Challenge on Tuesday, April 23rd by collecting discarded materials from the west side of Northside Drive. Over the two hour period, 20 employee volunteers picked up 26 bags of trash and recyclables.

Those attending the Atlanta International Auto Show are encouraged to take MARTA or to use the routes listed below to access Building C of the Georgia World Congress Center. These routes are particularly important on Sunday when streets will be closed for the Publix Georgia Marathon.

Busy Weekend Downtown: CHEERSPORT, Bronner Bros. and Monster Jam
ATLANTA - (February 11, 2013) Several large events are taking place on the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) campus and at nearby venues this weekend, February 16-17, with the largest attendance numbers expected to exceed 175,000 on Saturday. CHEERSPORT, Bronner Bros., Monster Jam and the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will all take place downtown this weekend. With the increased number of downtown visitors, attendees are encouraged to: take MARTA or if driving, purchase parking passes online, take the alternate routes listed below and leave home earlier than normal.

GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER AUTHORITY REAPPOINTS CURRENT BOARD OFFICERS
ATLANTA - (January 16, 2013) The Georgia World Congress Center Authority Board of Governors, the governor-appointed group that oversees the operation of the Georgia World Congress Center, Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park, announced today that its current officers have been reappointed for a second term, serving the GWCCA for an additional two years. Leadership positions are voted on by all 15 Board members.

Georgia World Congress Center Completes Exhibit Hall Lighting Upgrade Project
ATLANTA – (May 10, 2012) After receiving a $2.3 million grant in 2011, the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) recently completed a major lighting retrofit and controls system upgrade which will reduce energy consumption, as well as operation and maintenance costs, by using more energy efficient lamps and advanced lighting controls.

GWCCA EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH LEVY RESTAURANTS THROUGH 2018
ATLANTA -(January 31, 2012) The Georgia World Congress Center Authority Board of Directors today approved a six-year renewal of Levy Restaurants' exclusive food and beverage contract for the Authority's three venues starting in July 2012.
